Abstract

Degradation is usually an unwanted process. But, in some cases, controlled polymer degradation is useful. As it can improve the processability of the polymer or it can be used in the recycling or natural decomposition of waste polymer. Polymeric degradation is a physico-chemical process, that involves physical and chemical phenomena. This differs from the metallic corrosion reactions which are electrochemical.
